BACKGROUND
Nêrens is a farm in the northern Cape where three brothers grew up together. Their lives are changed forever when their mother dies tragically at a very young age. They have not seen each other for a long time, but must now return to the farm for their father’s sixtieth birthday.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Nico Scheepers is a young, up-and-coming writer and director. His plays have been performed in theatres across South Africa. Scheepers, who is originally from Limpopo, studied drama at the University of Pretoria, but now lives in Cape Town. In 2017 he wrote and directed Nerêns, Noord-Kaap for the Free State Arts Festival and won the award for best national debut and later that year also a kykNET-Fiësta prize for ensemble work.
