After President Kamawu steps down, Delilah Mashidika steps up as the first female president of Lubanda, to continue to steer the vibrant African nation towards its future. Although initially reluctant to follow the charismatic and gifted Moses, Delilah becomes a formidable leader to battle her own personal struggles with illness and fight the regressive forces from inside and outside Lubanda. She works hard to continue to achieve the development milestones which have lifted many Lubandans out of poverty and face up to the country’s new role as a beacon of the African continent. The Real President: Africa’s Last Line of Defence examines a possible future where good leadership and citizenship is allowed to flourish in the fictional African country of Lubanda and show how the struggles of one woman must endure to carry her country forward and bind the continent together.
